A Day in the Life of a Sparky – Summer Edition
Summer in Geelong means busy days, but there’s something about the warm weather that makes it all feel a bit more relaxed. Here’s a little peek into a day in my life – summer edition.
5:00 AM – Rise and Shine
The sun’s up early, and so am I! The first few hours of the day are my favourite, especially when the kids are still asleep. I sneak in a coffee and get ready for the day ahead.
6:30 AM – Getting the Boys Ready
Once Oliver and Brody are up, it’s all hands on deck. CJ and I tag-team to get breakfast sorted, while the kids race around in their PJ’s. The summer mornings in Geelong are perfect for a quick walk to the park, so we make sure to get some outdoor time before it gets too hot.
7:30 AM – Hitting the Tools
By the time we’re out the door, it’s straight to work. I’ve got a full schedule with aircon installs and electrical checks around town. I’m always on the lookout for ways to improve safety for families – it’s not just about fixing things; it’s about making homes safer for the people inside. I love that feeling of making a real difference for my clients.
12:30 PM – Lunch Break
I sneak in a quick bite between jobs. Summer means lighter lunches, so I might grab something fresh from the local café – maybe a wrap or a salad, all while checking in on emails and responding to messages. Geelong’s community vibe always comes through, with plenty of people popping by for a chat.
2:00 PM – Beat the Heat
The afternoon sun can be intense, so I make sure I stay hydrated and cool. If I’m working indoors, I try to take full advantage of the air conditioning. I always make sure the units are running smoothly for my clients, especially on those days when it feels like a heatwave.
4:00 PM – Wrapping Up the Day
After finishing up the last job, it’s time to head home. I love the moment I walk in the door and hear the kids laughing – even if they’re covered in sand from the beach. There’s nothing better than family time at the end of a hard day.
5:30 PM – Family Fun
Whether it’s dinner on the BBQ, a splash under the sprinklers, or a walk along the Barwon River, the evenings are spent soaking up the summer vibes. It’s my favourite part of the day, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
8:00 PM – Wind Down
By the time the kids are tucked in bed, it’s time to relax. A game or two of cards with CJ as we enjoy the warm Geelong summer evenings is the perfect end to a busy day.
So that’s a little snapshot of my summer day. Work is always busy, but it’s nice to be able to enjoy the simple moments too. The beach, the sunshine, and, of course, making sure your home is safe and cool for your family – that’s what summer is all about for me.
Stay safe, stay cool, and if you need a hand with your electrical needs, you know who to call.
